Microneedling, also called Collagen Induction Therapy, is one of the most effective and affordable ways to refresh your skin. Tiny, controlled micro-injuries trigger your body’s natural healing, so it targets specific concerns while rejuvenating your skin overall.

A medical-grade skin pen creates controlled micro-injuries that kick-start your body’s natural healing response. Your skin keeps producing new collagen and elastin for several months after even one treatment, and multiple treatments build on each other.

Most acne scars, newer surgical scars, fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and enlarged pores. It can also reduce rosacea redness and improve the overall thickness and health of your skin. A series of treatments gives visible results and helps slow the signs of aging.

  1. Paperwork. You complete a short health and skin history and a consent form, so I can make sure it’s safe for you.
  2. Numbing. I cleanse your face and apply a topical numbing cream for about 20 minutes.
  3. Treatment. I use a MesoPen with a sterile 14-needle cartridge and hyaluronic acid. This takes 25 to 35 minutes.
  4. Aftercare. You go home with 2 syringes of hyaluronic acid. One is to be used frequently, several times a day for the first 12 hours and the other for your use as a serum under your moisturizer for the following month.

Does it hurt? There is very little discomfort, and I check in with you throughout.

+ See Before and After care

Expect mild pinkness for up to 48 hours, like a mild sunburn. A couple of days later your skin may feel tight or dry, with some light flaking.

  • Mineral makeup (if you can) the day after treatment.
  • Nothing but my aftercare products on your skin for at least 12 hours.
  • Sunscreen daily for at least 3 weeks, since your skin is more vulnerable while it heals.

Yes. Microneedling is safe for all skin types and colors, with minimal risk of the pigment changes sometimes seen with treatments that use heat, like lasers. If you have active acne, we’ll clear it up first.

Please tell me if you have a serious autoimmune or health condition, an active infection, or a cardiac or vascular condition, as microneedling may not be right for you.

Treatments can be done every 4 to 6 weeks. Most people see results after one, and I recommend a series of 3 per year, one per season, with a break in summer. Deep scars and stretch marks can take 12 or more treatments over about 2 years. Patience is important.  Microneedling is the long game and so worth it.

Results are long-lasting, but your skin keeps aging, so you can repeat treatments as often as you like.
